Brief info

Dr. Chukwumezie Okolo is a United States Registered Pharmacist, Clinical Scientist and Public Health Epidemiologist of over 20 years. He holds a PhD in Leadership Studies from Johnson University USA; MBA in International Health (HPN) from Keele University UK; MSc in Epidemiology from the University of Ibadan Nigeria and B.Pharm in Pharmacy from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka. He is a Fellow of the African Institute for Public Health

His research interest has focused on Unmet Health Needs and Unequal Access to Care for poor patients. Some of the countries he has studied include Nigeria, Ghana, Burkina Faso, Cote D'Ivoire, Mali, and Chad, UK and the United States. Dr. Okolo believes that healthcare for the poor should not be poor healthcare. Currently he is interested in eliminating water borne diseases and neglected tropical diseases in Africa. In the US, Dr. Okolo is interested in oncology and rare diseases, especially as they affect the poor and minorities.

Dr. Okolo founded Rite Place Group as a consortium involved in Leadership Consultancy, Clinical Research, Business Development and Health Services. In Nigeria, Rite Place does business under Rite Place Health, Rite Place Synergy, Rite Place Academy and Rite Place Clinical Research (coming soon). He was also the founder of Rite Quality Health and Rite Quality Pharmacies in Texas, which provided top-notch services especially to marginalized populations. .

Dr. Okolo was a pharmacy manager with Walmart over a 7 year period in cities across Texas, responsible for patient care, business growth and operational efficiency. In the pandemic years of Covid-19, Dr. Okolo became a champion at different levels both as a certified vaccinator, a vaccinating center operator and a logistics/supply chain enthusiast, ensuring that cold chain was maintained for the vaccines from the manufacturers to the last man; monitoring, documenting and auditing the process across a Dallas district.

Prior to moving to the United States in 2008 with a job, Dr. Okolo worked for the UK National Health Service as a Clinical Audit and Clinical Effectiveness Facilitator, a role in which he was responsible for ensuring that all providers contracted with the NHS practiced according to agreed protocol and that best practices were followed. He also audited health programs and events.

Dr. Okolo has attended numerous courses in different areas of Clinical Research, Public Policy, Management, Leadership and Business Development both in the US and Nigeria. In 2022, he attended the Policy, Strategy and Leadership Course at the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies, Kuru, Jos.

Dr. Okolo has been peer reviewed and published. For several years, he reviewed for the Journal of Health Care for the Poor and Underserved based at John Hopkins University. He has presented award winning papers at international conferences. Dr. Okolo is also the author of a USA Best Book Finalist Award Winner. He writes and blogs on seminal topics around business and leadership. In the social media, he is known for short quotes, poems, and commentaries on contemporary issues and topics of interest.
